The Italian Association of Ski Instructors was founded in 1963 as an autonomous association. Many successes were realised during the passed 40 years of activity for the benefit of Italian Ski Instructors. Especially the official homologation of the Ski Instructors profession by the Italian state in 1991 with a publication of a National Law brought a major change for this profession and the whole domain of skiing.

Today- from the Alps to Sicily – more than 10'000 Ski Instructors are active in all winter sport resorts. Their activity guarantees a high standard in all winter sport disciplines (Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, Telemark and also Racquet walking and similar activities).

The association promotes the Ski Instructors profession by protecting and supporting its members. He cooperates worldwide with all National Associations of Ski Instructors with the aim of a broad dissemination of all winter sports and the promotion of all professional Ski Instructors by an improvement of their competences and preparation as well as a perfect integration in the matters of Tourism.
